Carol Graves Holladay

Carol began her career in higher education administration, counseling, and instruction over 35 years ago. Over the years, she developed a reputation for compassionate, dedicated and energetic commitment to the institutions and students she served.

After 15 years of direct work at the university level, she began working with non-profit associations. During those 10 years, she developed professional development programs for senior level higher ed officials and created a public policy program. This program engaged senior level student affairs professionals with Members of Congress, House and Senate Committee Members and the Department of Education. Not only did she develop programs that benefited association members but traveled across the country speaking on diverse topics to both higher ed professionals and student groups.

After serving the higher ed community for over 20 years, she moved to advocating for clients’ full time. The last 16 years Carol was Senior Associate at Hurt, Norton and Associates, a boutique lobby firm. She advocated for universities, city governments, aviation-based clients, research entities in the health arena as well as hospital systems to the federal government and agencies. She developed an expertise in appropriations, securing over $60 million in research funds and programmatic funding.

Carol has worked for and been affiliated with the University of Missouri, Central Missouri State University, The University of Alabama, Emory University, The Catholic University of American, NASPA: Student Affairs Administrators in Higher Education and Hurt, Norton & Associates.

Carol lives in Washington, DC – on Capitol Hill. She is highly active in her community of faith and serves her community through various organizations supporting those in need. She has two children, her daughter Sarah graduated from the University of Kentucky with a B.S in Equine Science through the School of Agriculture. She currently works in marketing for the equine industry in Lexington, KY. Her son, James is a Junior at Barton College in North Carolina working toward a BA/MBA in Business Administration.
