Jim Lewis
Client Manager
Jim Lewis has nine years of experience in federal, state, and local government, as well as private law administration, with expertise in legislative research, casework, communications, and stakeholder engagement. He has a strong background in transportation, housing, Medicaid/Medicare, unemployment compensation, and event planning.
During his time with the District of Columbia Council, Jim played a key role in initiatives to reduce homelessness, combat urban blight, enhance neighborhood security, and expand access to critical community resources. In the private sector, he helped navigate the transition of a national law firm during the COVID-19 crisis, adapting to evolving workforce requirements, overseeing building operations, and managing accounting and paralegal responsibilities.
Jim’s government experience includes working and interning for former U.S. Senator Bob Casey Jr., Governor Josh Shapiro during his tenure as Montgomery County Supervisor, the Pennsylvania Senate, and Pennsylvania State Representative Tim Briggs, the current Chair of the Pennsylvania House Judiciary Committee. He also has prior notary public experience in Pennsylvania.
At Capitol Advocacy Partners, Jim leverages his expertise to foster strong relationships with federal and state representatives, public advocacy groups, and nonprofit organizations to better understand their needs and funding priorities.
Originally from Norristown, PA, just outside Philadelphia, Jim now resides in Columbia Heights, Washington, D.C., with his wife and their cat, Sophia. He frequently visits family in Pennsylvania and New Jersey and enjoys hiking, biking, board games, and traveling the world. He holds a B.S. in Political Science from The Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C.
