Valery Yankov
Grant Project Manager
Valery Yankov has over 17 years of experience in grants management working for non-profit organizations that target underserved communities in the Washington, DC area.
He graduated from Washington and Lee University in 2005 with a Bachelors of Science degree in Business Administration. Upon graduation, he moved to the Washington, DC area and started work at Family and Medical Counseling Service as a Grants Management Specialist. During his time there he was intricately involved in work with Ryan White grants, targeting communities affected by the HIV virus. In 2008 he joined Children’s National Hospital and managed portfolios for NIH, DOD, DOH, NSF and PCORI grants for a variety of Principal Investigators. Valery’s work has revolved around a number of projects in the areas of Cancer and Oncology, Neuroscience, Molecular Biology, and more extensively in Clinical and Community research. He also has a considerable experience in managing large multi-center, multi -site infrastructure federal grants.
Valery is a native of Bulgaria, but has lived in the DMV area for over 17 years. His interests include world history, religion and philosophy. He is passionate about police reform and social justice. Valery is a father of twins, boy and girl, who take up most of his free time. He and his wife enjoy attending local sports events, trips to the beach, and traveling to Europe.
